JEANNIE C. DETWEILER

Jeannie C. Detweiler is a fiber artist and educator based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Born and raised in the city, she integrates traditional handcrafts—sewing, crochet, and embroidery—with a background in classical fine art to create tactile, narrative works. After earning a BFA in painting and drawing from Louisiana State University in 1993, Detweiler expanded her practice into fiber, mastering techniques passed down through generations of women in her family. Her work has been exhibited at New Orleans institutions such as Antenna Gallery and Side Arm Gallery, as well as in major art markets including New York and Los Angeles.
